Description
Gastric ulcers are common in horses as well as foals. This condition is frequently experienced by performance horses, and horses who experience changes in housing and socialization. Foals may experience gastric ulcers because the gastric mucosa has not developed to its full thickness at birth. Gaster Guard contains a blend of herbs that have historically been used for their anti-inflammatory, antacid, demulcent, and astringent properties. Demulcents lubricate and protect mucous membranes whereas astringents form a film over the mucosal surface to protect it from caustic agents.
Active Ingredients: Meadowsweet, Chamomile, Calendula, Marshmallow Root, Raspberry Leaf, Licorice.
Recommended Use: 1-2 scoops per day for 1000-1200 lb. horse. Not for use in pregnant mares. This product contains Chamomile, which is a prohibited substance on some venue testing requirements.
